Diddy’s lawyer Marc Agnifilo revealed his client’s situation after the rapper was removed from suicide watch.

People reported on September 29 that Diddy (real name Sean Combs) was taken off suicide watch after two weeks of being arrested. The rapper is facing charges of conspiracy to commit extortion, sex trafficking, and prostitution.

In the latest developments, Mr. Marc Agnifilo – Diddy’s lawyer revealed his client’s situation after he was no longer on suicide watch.

According to People Sunday, Diddy has met with his lawyer to prepare for the upcoming trial. In addition, relatives are also allowed to visit Diddy.

“Diddy is healthy and sober. He has no negative intentions and is focused on defending the charges against him in the upcoming trial,” Diddy’s lawyer said. 

Diddy’s trial has not yet been scheduled, but the rapper is scheduled for a hearing on October 9. So far, the rap mogul has not pleaded guilty to any charges. 

Diddy’s lawyer said his client is “very eager to tell his story” at the upcoming trial.

The notorious rapper is currently being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MCC) in Brooklyn, New York (USA). Diddy’s side once offered to pay a huge sum of $50 million (more than 1,200 billion VND) for the rapper to be released on bail, but this request was rejected.

After being arrested, Diddy was said to have shown signs of psychological shock as he was extremely confused and anxious. He lost sleep and appetite due to fear of being harmed. As a result, Diddy was placed on suicide watch to prevent him from having suicidal thoughts while in prison.

Diddy’s prison is considered “hell on earth”. Built in 1975, the 12-story MCC in New York was once home to notorious criminals such as Mexican drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman, mafia leader John Gotti and World Trade Center bomber Ramzi Yousef.

Combs’ attorney acknowledged that the poor conditions at MCC were unsuitable for pretrial detention: “‘At least four inmates have committed suicide there in the past three years.'”

There are currently only 42 individuals serving sentences at the prison. The rest are in pretrial detention, like Diddy.

Diddy’s cell is about 6 feet by 9 feet, with two metal bunk beds and a thin mattress, a blanket and a uniform, federal prison consultant Sam Mangel told The Mirror. There is also a steel toilet and a small table.

The toilets will be designed to flush only three times a day because “inmates will occasionally flood the room by repeatedly flushing the toilet”.

Diddy’s prison has been described as “hell on earth” after repeated staff shortages, lockdowns, outbreaks of violence, and a series of suicides and murders.

Diddy was arrested in New York on the evening of September 16 after being indicted by a grand jury. The arrest came about six months after federal authorities raided his homes in Los Angeles and Miami as part of an investigation into sex trafficking allegations.

There, agents seized numerous items of evidence, including drugs and more than 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricants. They also discovered three AR-15s with scratched serial numbers and a magazine.

For decades, Diddy boasted about building a multimillion-dollar business empire, according to a 14-page indictment unsealed on September 17.

But federal prosecutors say he ran it as a “criminal enterprise” that engaged in and covered up sex trafficking, forced labor and bribery.

Diddy is also suspected of luring multiple male and female victims into drug-fueled, multi-day sex shows known as “Freak Offs.”

The document describes “Freak Offs” as “elaborately staged sexual performances that the rapper arranged, directed, and often recorded electronically.”

Diddy’s crimes are said to have taken place over a long period of time, dating back to at least 2009. Much of the activity took place at the rap mogul’s luxury homes in New York, Los Angeles and two mansions on Star Island in Miami Beach.
