Steve Harvey claims businessman misled him with bogus claims and broken promises in an effort to meet him

Steve Harvey has answered back to an ongoing lawsuit involving a former business associate.

The talk show host, 61, replied in court docs after a man named Vincent Dimmock sued him, claiming Harvey reneged on paying him a commission after was he instrumental in drumming up donations to a charity Harvey is linked with, TMZ reports.

Dimmock said that in April of 2017, he and Harvey came to an accord that he would drum up $20 million toward the charity, and collect a 12.5 percent commission on the funds he raised, which would work out to $2.5 million.

Dimmock said that he fulfilled his end of the bargain, raising more than $20 million, while currying up support from celebrities and political figures.

But Harvey is telling a different story in court papers, claiming that Dimmock initially approached him to help with an energy drink he was trying to market.

The Atlanta-based star said that when that business plan didn’t come to fruition, Dimmock attempted to pitch him on the idea of coordinating a meeting between him and a billionaire who would part with a huge donation toward his charity.

The Family Feud host said he traveled to Austin, Texas for a meeting with the billionaire, who had no association with Dimmock and didn’t donate anything to his charity, according to the outlet.

Harvey told the court that Dimmock never raised any money for the charity, and that he believes Dimmock’s business pitches were a way for him to simply meet up with him.
